Have you been delaying necessary dental treatment because of dental anxiety? Do your dental fears make you perspire just thinking about sitting in a dentist chair? If so, Aesthetic Dentistry Associates is here to help! Our dedicated dentists, Drs. Umansky, Nino, and Zafer are pleased to offer sedation dentistry for those patients in Humble, Texas, and the surrounding areas, who struggle with anxiety during dental procedures. How can we help?

We offer the following three sedation options for our patients:

Nitrous Oxide

Did you know that laughing gas parties using nitrous oxide was a popular pastime of the British upper class during the late 1700’s? Well it’s true, and the dental community began using it in the 1860’s to calm anxious patients. This colorless gas is mixed with oxygen and inhaled through the nose by breathing normally. You will be able to hear and respond to questions and instructions during your procedure. Simply sit back, relax, and breathe comfortably through your nose while we work on your smile.

Oral Sedation

With oral sedation, we simply prescribe you a pill to take an hour before your upcoming visit, and depending on the dosage, it can range from minimal to moderate sedation. This sedation dentistry will make you drowsy and you will still be awake, although some people become groggy enough from the moderate level and can nod off during the procedure. You will, however, be easily awakened with a gentle shake.

IV Sedation

With IV sedation, we administer the medication through your veins. This type of sedation works quickly, and allows us to control the level of sedation which makes you stay comfortable. While IV sedation allows you to remain conscious, you may feel so relaxed that you fall asleep during your treatment. It is also possible that my not remember the details of your procedure, even though you are awake.

Whether you are having your pearly whites cleaned, or having periodontal therapy, Drs. Umansky, Nino, and Zaferand our Aesthetic Dentistry Associates team in Humble, Texas, are committed to helping you have a positive dental experience.
